1st Robot Iteration and Prototype
The 1st iteration it has a maximum dimension of 66mm and the design is shown in Figure 4a. Upon testing in the autumn term it showed that the robot travelled a distance 98.6% less than what was predicted using MATLAB. The robot also weighed 27g more than the 20g predicted from CAD. This mismatch was reduced by refining the MATLAB model, taking into account CD from CFD analysis and the floor friction coefficients we measured experimentally as presented in the table below.
